This is the first ever picture of Netflix’s “The Witcher” released to the public. It comes right after shooting began in Hungary over recent weeks. You can see above how Cavill looks in the role.
Netflix Polska also published a short video on Twitter presenting Cavill in his new role: “Drink up Geralt, good luck on the trail! We’ll see you next year.”

In addition to Cavill, the TV series’ cast includes Anya Chalotra (“A.B.C”, “Wanderlust”) as Yennefer, Freya Allan (“War of the Worlds”) as Ciri and Palme d’Or laureate Jodhi May (“Game of Thrones”, “Genius”).
One of the biggest casting reveals is Lars Mikkelsen, who will play Stregobor. Mikkelsen is perhaps best known for his role of Viktor Petrov in Netflix’s “House of Cards”.

“The Witcher” is a series based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels and is slated for a 2019 release. Given the creators’ production plan, fans can expect the TV series to hit the streaming site during the back end of the year. The first season will run for eight episodes.
