Police officers from the Lubin district police station have detained three citizens of Uzbekistan who allegedly threatened an acquaintance with a knife, forced him into a vehicle, and drove him out of the city to a forest.
The victim, a 22-year-old citizen of Tajikistan, was beaten and left wounded in the forest before he managed to return to the city on his own, covered in blood. Law enforcement authorities arrested the three suspects, aged 22 and 23, on the same day the incident was reported.
The investigation began last week when the young Tajik citizen reported the assault and unlawful deprivation of liberty to the District Police Headquarters in Lubin. The victim explained that he was accosted by the perpetrators while he was at work, according to TVP3.
Junior Assistant Renata Ślęk provided details on the sequence of events, stating: “The perpetrators threatened him with a knife, forced him into a car with them, and then drove him out of town. There, the 22-year-old was beaten. He returned to the city on his own.”
Following the report, Lubin police officers quickly located and detained the three Uzbek citizens suspected of orchestrating the attack. The detainees were processed into a police cell and subsequently transferred to the prosecutor’s office to face formal charges.
The three suspects now face legal proceedings for unlawful deprivation of liberty, forcing another person to take a specific action, participating in a fight, and making criminal threats.
Under current legal guidelines for the crimes they are suspected of committing, the men could face up to five years in prison.
