"Like recently with that girl [Iryna Zarutska] who was unfortunately killed on the train... For me, it's shocking, for me, it's something incredible that things like this are happening. I think it has to change"

In a recent interview, Polish-American model and TV personality Joanna Krupa stated her belief that Poland is obviously a much safer country than the United States.

Krupa, who is well-known in Poland for her work on “Top Model” and her animal welfare advocacy, has lived in the U.S. since the age of five.

However, she told Polish outlet Plotek.pl in a piece published today that crime is getting worse and worse in the United States.

“Unfortunately, it’s actually getting worse. I hope it gets better somehow, because in Poland, as a mother, I see the difference that it’s very safe here compared to the States. Obviously, nowhere is perfect, but I think Poland is a country where they really care about safety. And in the States, I think it’s common for someone to go to jail and then they release them.”

Krupa then pointed to the brutal murder of Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska by Black male career criminal DeCarlos Brown, who stabbed her to death on a train near Charlotte, North Carolina. The man had 14 criminal convictions but was released on no-cash bail.

“Like recently with that girl [Iryna Zarutska] who was unfortunately killed on the train… For me, it’s shocking, for me, it’s something incredible that things like this are happening. I think it has to change,” she admitted in an interview with Plotek, adding that she feels safer in Poland.

Zarutska’s death has sparked global news coverage, but her death is symptomatic of the incredible crime problem facing Americans, including Black-on-White crime. The issue has prompted commentary from European politicians, including MEP Tomasz Froelich, of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party.

“Black people make up 13% of the population in the USA but account for 56% of murderers. Their homicide rate is 6-8 times higher than that of Whites. For every three Black people killed by Whites, seven Whites are killed by Blacks—despite there being almost five times as many Whites as Blacks in the USA. Now, 23-year-old Ukrainian Iryna Zarutska was brutally stabbed to death by a repeatedly convicted Black man in Charlotte, North Carolina,” Froelich wrote on X.

However, Krupa is not taking any chances with her own safety or the safety of her children.

To protect herself in the U.S., Krupa says she has “cameras, I have an alarm, everything to protect myself.” She added that she avoids wearing expensive jewelry when she goes out, explaining, “Now you never know who’s going to approach you if you’re wearing expensive clothes.”

During the interview, she was also asked what she misses from the United States when she comes to Poland. Apparently, there is not much she is missing.

“There really isn’t that much difference between Poland and the States, because in Poland we have everything. The only thing that’s worse for me is that when I leave the States, if I’m going to Poland for a long time, I miss my daughter because it’s very hard for me to leave without her. And when she’s here, I don’t really miss anything,” she said.

However, even in countries like neighboring Germany, Poles are getting tired of dealing with crime and growing chaos in the schools and cities, and are opting to return to Poland in large numbers.

Two years ago, a Polish woman spoke to then former Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and explained that she wanted to go back to Poland because of worsening security in Germany.

The conversation between the two, caught on camera, came following the hours-long rape of a young Polish man by a migrant inside a Munich metro station, which became international news.

Poland has one of the lowest crime rates in the European Union.

In relation to big cities, Berlin was rated as having 10 times more crime than Warsaw, and a travel advisory was even issued to Polish travelers about the crime issues facing Germany in 2023.

As the statistics show, Germany’s foreign population is one of the key drivers of growing insecurity in the country.

However, the crime rate in many U.S. cities is astronomically high, whereas in cities like Berlin, crime remains high in comparison to countries like Poland and Hungary, but still does not compare to the U.S. in most cases.
