A man went to a police station in Germany on Saturday and confessed to murdering his ex-wife because he felt dishonored that she had left him.

German media reported that at around 8 a.m. on the same day, the 59-year-old suspect, named as Ali. K, waited for his former spouse, 55-year-old Claudia K., in a forest where she walked her dog each morning just outside the small town of Witzeeze, Schleswig-Holstein.

As she passed his hiding spot, the suspect allegedly ambushed her and shot her multiple times. Nearby residents reported hearing three gunshots followed by a loud scream.

The victim was found dead at the scene.

After the shooting, Ali K. is understood to have fled the scene and headed to the nearest police station, located 2 kilometers away in Büchen.

Upon arrival, he found the station unmanned and called the emergency services on his cellphone, confessing to the murder and providing the location of his ex-wife’s body.

He was arrested shortly thereafter, and authorities later discovered Claudia K.’s body on the forest path.

Emerging details suggest that the motive for the killing was deeply personal. Focus reported that Ali K. had struggled to come to terms with his ex-wife’s decision to divorce him five years ago.

Family friends revealed that Ali K. saw himself as a “patriarch” and was unable to accept Claudia K.’s new, independent life. According to sources, the divorce deeply wounded his pride, and he was particularly resentful about the financial settlement, which required him to share a portion of his real estate earnings with his ex-wife.

Ali K. had reportedly visited Claudia K.’s home multiple times in the past, often leading to arguments. A family friend noted, “He couldn’t stand that she was living her life without him. He felt insulted and dishonored.”

The murder sent shockwaves through the small community of Witzeeze.

Local authorities cordoned off the crime scene, and specialists have been working to gather evidence, with investigations into the murder ongoing.
