At the Sharm el-Sheikh peace summit, co-chaired by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and U.S. President Donald Trump, Trump noted those who have helped to promote peace in the Middle East and bring the hostage situation in Gaza to an end. These individuals were invited to stand behind Trump at the signing ceremony.

In mentioning Hungary, Trump then took time to praise Prime Minister Orbán for his leadership. Trump also pledged his full support for Fidesz ahead of the upcoming election.

“Viktor, we love Viktor. Where’s Viktor? You are fantastic, all right? I know a lot of people don’t agree with me, but I’m the only one that matters. You are fantastic. He’s a great leader. I endorsed the last election he had, and he won by 28 points. So, you’re gonna do even better this time. You have another election, and you’re gonna do great, and we appreciate it, and we’re behind you 100 percent.”

Posting the clip of the American president’s words, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó thanked Trump, adding, “Great to have the President of the United States as our ally.”

Hungary has long been targeted by left-liberal and even centrist forces from the EU and America looking to impose their agenda on the CEE state of 10 million people. Orbán has resisted calls to get on board with various campaigns, be it gender, Ukraine, open borders, or higher taxes.

And despite pressure direct from the Oval Office, pressure from previous Democrat administrations in the U.S. remains high. Just yesterday, Remix News reported on new efforts from former President Obama to paint Orbán as an autocrat and promote voices linked to the Soros network opposing him.

One of Orbán’s biggest causes has been to avoid war and seek peace, both in Ukraine and the Middle East. He thus posted on X to commemorate the occasion of the agreement on Gaza. “The guns have fallen silent, the hostages are free, and long-awaited peace reigns in the Middle East. President DonaldTrump has made it happen!”

“Now it’s Europe’s turn. President Trump’s success proves that we must never give up on negotiations. Without talks, there’s no peace. It’s time for us Europeans to follow President Trump’s example!”

Trump has said that peace with Russia is his next priority, after which he will also seek a deal with Iran.

Over two dozen countries were present for the ceremony in Sharm el-Sheikh. EU member states included Hungary, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, Greece, and Cyprus. From Europe, the U.K. and Norway were also present.

The peace agreement was signed by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, US President Donald Trump, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Sisi called the signing “a glimmer of hope that this agreement will close a painful chapter in human history and open the door to a new era of peace and stability in the Middle East.”

Earlier in the day, Trump spoke to the Israeli parliament, stating, “Now, at last, not only for Israelis, but also for Palestinians and for many others. The long and painful nightmare is finally over.”
