Anniversary celebrations have already begun by launching The Prague astronomical clock and the opening of the reconstructed National Museum is expected.
Celebrations will last for the entire month of October and culminate on October 28th. Preparations have cost 10 million korunas so far and it is uncertain what the final amount will be. “The final amount will be known after the celebrations,” said Jana Zechmeistrová, head of the Ministry of Defense press department.
The military show will be the first since 2008, but it is going to be the biggest one according to Zechmeistrová. The general public rehearsal will take place will take place on October 27th at the Evropská boulevard in Prague and will show state-of-the-art military technology. The attendance of honorary guards of Slovakia, France, the United States, Great Britain and Italy are expected and also the possibility to see a collection of Integrated Rescue System vehicles including army and police helicopters will be remarkable, Zechmeisterova added.
The military show will include historic vehicles, which will demonstrate the development of Czechoslovak/Czech military since 1918. The Ministry of Defense also invited all veterans of WWII.
