Donald Tusk took to Twitter on the weekend to accuse President Andrzej Duda for shaming Poland, prompting Duda to hit back during one of his stump speeches by saying Tusk was the “greatest liar in Polish modern political history.”
It all started in a Twitter post from Tusk where he slammed Duda over his remarks on LGBT being an ideology rather than a category of people:
“The President of the Republic should protect its reputation. Andrzej Duda is doing everything to ruin it. His campaign is a disgrace on a global scale,” wrote Tusk, who currently serves as the European People’s Party president but was prime minister of Poland between 2007 and 2014.
President Duda hit back fast against Duda’s remarks:
“Donald, you had the chance to stand in the election and to conduct your own campaign. Your own supporters asked you to do so. But you preferred to hide behind Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska and now Rafał Trzaskowski. You know what we used to call that kind of behavior on the playground? Chicken…”
Panie Donaldzie, miał Pan okazje wystartować w wyborach i prowadzić swoją kampanię. Był Pan dwukrotnie namawiany by się ze mną zmierzyć przez swoje środowisko. Wolał się Pan jednak schować za plecami MKB a pozniej RT. Wie Pan jak się na taką postawe mówiło na podwórku?

The former President of the European Council continued the spat by writing to Duda, “Andrzej, I was interested in a confrontation with your boss [PiS party leader Jarosław Kaczyński]. But as they say in the playground…”
President Duda fired back once again, writing, “Mr. Chairman [Tusk heads the EPP], you had the occasion to take on my mentor, President [Lech Kaczyński] back in 2005. And you lost hands down. And we all remember what happened later.”
