A 58-year-old woman was targeted for rape in the middle of the day by a Somali migrant while she was out jogging. She was only saved by her own ability to fight the attacker off, as well as the help of five people who came to her aid and held the attacker down near the stairs of the Pont de la Jonelière, which is a bridge in Nantes.
The harrowing incident follows two separate attacks, a shooting on Saturday that injured three people and shots fired at tram passengers on Sunday.
Shortly before the attempted rape, the woman left her house for a jog at around 11:00 a.m.only to be suddenly pinned to the ground by an 18-year-old Somali migrant.
“He brought his pelvis closer to her face. The victim understood that she was going to be forced to perform fellatio given the position of her attacker,” said a police source speaking with Le Figaro.

Once in custody, the man denied the facts of the case, saying he was under the influence of drugs and that he was actually helping the woman. Police also confirmed he tested positive for drugs.

An investigation has been opened for attempted rape under the influence of narcotics.
It is not the first case of attempted rape in Nantes, with an illegal migrant from Guinea attempting to rape three women along the Gesvres River in the city during 2023.

Last year, Remix News reported on the case of a migrant from Cameroon who was arrested for stabbing a woman and sexually assaulting another woman in a short period of time. Police say he confessed to them that he wanted to “slit the throats of White women.”
The man was arrested on Nov. 9 in Bordeaux, France, after stabbing a woman who was out jogging in the back. The victim was rushed to the hospital. Her injuries did not turn out to be life-threatening, but she required emergency intervention.
The attacker was arrested shortly after the stabbing. The man is already known to the police for strangling a young woman on a public highway back in 2023, according to French news outlet JDD.
Migrants in France are also well known for attacking elderly victims, who often lack the ability to properly defend themselves due to their advanced age. Although in the most recent case in Nantes, the woman was only 58, far older women have been targeted as well.
Often, these foreigners also appear unafraid to target a woman right in the middle of the street in broad daylight with a rape attack. In another case in Italy, such an incident was filmed by a witness and later shared with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who was censored on Twitter for her post before Elon Musk took over X and highly criticized by left-wing press outlets.
