An illegal Afghan migrant in Germany is currently standing trial not only for having murdered his own roommate, but for then having repeatedly had sex with his corpse.

The migrant, identified in court documents only as Habib Rahman A., initially came to Germany as an asylum-seeker. His application was rejected, but as in many such cases across Western Europe, his continued stay in the country was nevertheless tolerated.

Habib Rahman was already known to the authorities for his bizarre behavior, which included sexually harassing young girls. At some point prior to the murder of which he has been accused, he was temporarily confined to a psychiatric hospital. He was nevertheless soon released back onto the streets. Staff at the hospital concluded that he merely had an “overactive sex drive” and was therefore harmless.

Court records indicate that Habib Rahman was sharing an apartment with the victim in the small town of Aue in Saxony. The crimes of which he has been accused are believed to have occurred between Sept. 8 and 12, 2024.

The indictment accuses Habib Rahman of murdering his roommate by stabbing him 19 times with a knife as well as a screwdriver. It says that he then proceeded to strip the corpse naked and had sex with it multiple times over the following several days, even while it was decomposing.

The body of the roommate, who was likewise an Afghan migrant, was only discovered after his sister reported him as a missing person to police. Responding officers then discovered the rotting corpse in the apartment. According to their report, the body was found naked and was laid out with a pillow placed underneath the hips so that the buttocks were elevated.

Habib Rahman has already confessed to both of these crimes in court.

“A. was a time bomb,” a police officer told Junge Freiheit. “We had been dealing with him almost every day in Aue for three weeks.”

The officer explained that Habib Rahman often harassed women of all ages. He said the victims were between ten and 70 years old.

A verdict in the trial is expected this month.
