After Elon Musk said at an AfD rally over the weekend that Germany “focuses too much on past sins,” Sports Minister Sławomir Nitras is calling for a boycott on Tesla.

The American entrepreneur was a guest at Saturday’s Alternative for Germany rally in Halle where he delivered a speech in support of the AfD.

“Children should not be guilty of the sins of their parents, let alone their great-grandparents,” Musk said, which appeared to be a reference to the country’s Nazi era.

“It’s good to be proud of German culture, German values, and not to lose that in some sort of multiculturalism that dilutes everything,” Musk added. His words provoked massive cheers from the audience of approximately 4,500 people.

In response, the Civic Coalition (KO) politician stated that a boycott of Tesla would be a good solution, according to Polish newspaper Do Rzeczy.

“I can only say this much, listening to these words: Probably no normal Pole should buy a Tesla anymore. Let Kaczyński drive a Tesla, maybe with Kowalski,” said Nitras.

“I am outraged by this statement, and we cannot close our eyes here. We need to respond seriously and firmly, including something like a consumer boycott, for example,” Nitras noted, adding: “Maybe Mr. Musk with his billions does not feel threatened, but every normal person living in the center of Europe, who remembers what happened 80 years ago, cannot watch with indifference.”

“This is a hydra that can be reborn. Especially on a day like the liberation of Auschwitz, we must remember this and bear loud witness to the truth,” said the sports minister.

The minister also expressed hope that “maybe even these statements by Musk will result in the AfD getting a worse result than the polls showed because nobody likes someone interfering in their internal affairs”.

“This is obvious interference in Germany’s internal affairs,” said Nitras.

Notably, politicians have remained indifferent to the influence of George Soros in support of liberal causes in Europe for years. Now that a billionaire has entered the foray in favor of right-leaning parties, Europe’s political elite is reacting with outrage and legal threats.
