The world commemorates Polish independence

November 11 of every year is a special day for any Pole, as it is the anniversary of Poland regaining her independence on November 11, 1918.

The country’s allies and friends in the international arena sent their best wishes on the occasion of the 102nd anniversary of this special day.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, in addition to sending his best wishes, thanked Poland for its support in defending the territorial integrity of Ukraine:

“Warmest wishes for Andrzej Duda on the occasion of Poland’s Independence Day! We wish the Polish Nation peace and unity. We appreciate your support in defending our territorial integrity. I believe that the strategic partnership between Ukraine and Poland will strengthen the stability and security of Europe.”

Lithuania also sent its well-wishes, and Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius shared a video of the Lithuanian diplomatic choir commemorating Polish independence in previous years:

US Ambassador to Poland Georgette Mosbacher emphasized that Poland is a symbol of “steadfastness and heroism” to Americans:

U.S. Army Europe also gave Poland it’s best wishes, underlining the Polish-American alliance and partnership:

In context of Poland’s Independence Day, Pope Francis reminded people of an important teaching of Saint John Paul II during a General Audience:

“Today, Poland is celebrating its National Independence Day. While we thank the Lord for the gift of freedom, what Saint John Paul II taught youth comes to mind: ‘To be free means to know how to use your freedom for truth.'”

The Pope asked God to bless all Poles will peace and prosperity.

German Ambassador Arndt Freytag von Loringhoven also offered his congratulations on Germany’s behalf:

“All the best, Poland! German diplomatic representatives congratulate our friends on the occasion of their Independence Day. For Poles, this day is a symbol of regaining statehood. We wish a pleasant celebration!”

British Ambassador to Poland Anna Clunes emphasized Poland’s role as a regional leader in Central Europe:

“Poland is now a strong international player in the heart of Europe. A regional leader in security, trade and technology. An important partner for the UK on the world stage,” she said in a video.
