The United States is concerned about a secret drone factory, which is producing drones for Russia in violation of sanctions.

A spokesman for the White House National Security Council (NSC) said there was no indication that the Chinese government knew about these deals. At the same time, he stressed that the Asian power has a responsibility to ensure that its companies are not involved in lethal assistance to Russia.

Based on a report by the Reuters news agency, the Chinese company in question is IEMZ Kupol, which develops drones for use in Ukraine. This move could seriously violate international sanctions and arms treaties.

The spokesman added that China’s efforts to prevent such activities are “clearly not up to the desired level” and that the United States may take action against Chinese companies involved.

A NATO spokesman also called the reports worrisome and confirmed that the allies are consulting on the matter.

According to the leaked report, these drones have already been delivered to Russia, although China denies knowledge of the project and says it maintains strict export controls on the drones.

The U.S. and Western allies have accused China of covertly providing Ukraine with intelligence, manufacturing support, and weapon components.
