The president thanked voters who took part in the elections in an interview for TVP Info, and emphasized the importance of such a large turnout (over 61 percent):
“Many people stood in queues, even for a long time abroad, so that they could cast their vote. This was a beautiful celebration of democracy. We proved that there is democracy in Poland,” Duda said, and underlined that this disproves any claims that there is an issue with democracy in the country.
He expressed hopes that the new senators and MPs will work together for the good of the Polish republic and that they will help further Polish society.
