Tulsi Gabbard, the former Democratic congresswoman and presidential candidate from Hawaii, has laid into the Biden administration’s disastrous handling of the border crisis, urging the president and vice president to reinstate Trump’s border policies immediately.

Amid an ongoing crisis along the US-Mexico border which has seen tens of thousands of illegal immigrants — many of whom are unvaccinated and untested — flood into Texas in recent days, Gabbard took to social media to slam the Biden Regime’s reckless border policies, which some like Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson say are being carried out intentionally to hasten the “Great Replacement”.

“The Biden/Harris open-door policy has been a disaster,” Gabbard wrote. “It needs to end now. The main beneficiaries of open borders are the gangs, cartels, and human traffickers. The Trump policy of having people wait on the other side of the border worked and needs to be reinstated.”

In a separate post to social media the same day, Gabbard, a left-wing populist, slammed the Biden-Harris administration for allowing an unrelenting stream of illegal migration to flow into the United States unopposed, writing: “The humanitarian and national security crisis on the southern border is the direct result of your open-border policy. As I said in my 2020 presidential campaign, we can’t have a secure nation if we don’t secure our borders.”

Collectively, throughout July and August, over 400,000 illegal migrants were encountered at the US-Mexico border, the highest figures seen in 20 years, statistics from the US Customs and Border Protection revealed. Last week saw illegal Haitian migrants hijack a bus and attack Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials in charge of overseeing a deportation flight.

Despite claiming that it was planning to expel some 15,000 illegal migrants who had amassed under the Del Rio, Texas’s International bridge along the US-Mexico border earlier this month, several reports have surfaced which say the Biden administration has released thousands of Haitians into the interior of the country.

Two U.S. officials, both of whom have direct knowledge of the operations and who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told the Associated Press that illegal migrants from Haiti had been freed on a “very, very large scale”, noting that the figure was at least in the thousands, if not higher.

As of last Thursday, officials from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reported that of the 15,000 Haitian migrants that had arrived illegally earlier this month, just 1,400 had been sent home on repatriation flights.

Biden’s Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Sunday admitted that over 12,000 Haitians who had gathered under the Del Rio International bridge after entering the country illegally had been released into the U.S. with little more than notice to appear in court after 60 days, adding that many more would be released.

“Approximately, I think it’s about 10,000 or so – 12,000 thousand,” Mayorkas told hosts on Fox News Sunday when questioned on the figures, adding: “It could be even higher. The number that are returned could be even higher. What we do is we follow the law as Congress has passed it.”
