Sometime after 11:00 P.M. on Saturday, police in the town of Śrem received calls reporting a bloody fight on the beach at Lake Grzymisławskie. Two locals had to be transported to the hospital for treatment due to injuries sustained, while four non-locals were arrested, one Argentine citizen and three Colombians.
“The police are investigating the situation, determining the course of events, in which several people took part. Two men, residents of Śrem, were taken to the hospital with injuries. The police detained four men suspected of participating in the fight. One of these men is a citizen of Argentina, and three are citizens of Colombia. All were taken into police custody,” Senior Inspector Ewa Kasińska said.
Kasińska also told the Polish Press Agency (PAP) on Sunday that the perpetrators used broken bottles and that three of the men arrested were drunk. The daily “Głos Wielkopolski” additionally reported that traces of blood were still visible in the morning, stretching out along the nearby residential area.

Such an incident is rare in Poland and has sparked concerns that Columbian gang violence, well known in the U.S., has somehow hit Poland.
