According to the decision of Law and Justice’s (PiS) political council, former PM Beata Szydło, MEP Joachim Brudziński, MP Antoni Macierewicz, Minister of Defense Mariusz Błaszczak, and Minister of the Interior Mariusz Kamiński have maintained their positions.
PM Mateusz Morawiecki has now joined this group.
“These were two very good days for PiS and Poland. Jarosław Kaczyński, the founder and leader of our environment presented a concrete roadmap and was chosen for another term. Thank you for choosing me as the deputy chairman of the party with a real plan to further improve the lives of Poles,” Mateusz Morawiecki wrote on Twitter.

Jarosław Kaczyński, once again chosen as PiS’s leader, said that “since we are in power today, we have a great mission, huge possibilities, and incredible opportunities for Poland. God has made it so, that during our governing and partially thanks to our decisions, such opportunities exist.”
He explained that for the time period of the Polish Deal (the plan for recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic) to be a good one for Poland, PiS must solve issues indirectly related to the Polish Deal.
Kaczyński warned that there has never been such a level of deceit as there has been in the case of attacks against the Polish Deal.
“We must face the facts, but this does not mean that we have to give something up. It means that we must defend the Polish Deal–not only in television, radio, and on the internet, but also in direct contact with people,” he said.
PiS’s leader added that contact and dialogue with the Polish people was the party’s speciality. He pointed to Mateusz Morawiecki’s huge role in initiating conversation with Poles, as he has held several meetings and rallies.
The delegates as PiS’s congress also passed a resolution which forbade the hiring of partners, spouses, children, siblings, and parents of PiS MPs and senators to positions in the boards of directors of state-owned companies.
