Customers were quickly sent out of several stores in the city of Székesfehérvár yesterday after bomb threats were received. Police arrived on the scene, with security guards also announcing the arrival of bomb-sniffing dogs.

“We were in the Alba Plaza in Székesfehérvár late Tuesday afternoon when everyone was kicked out of the building by security guards,” an eyewitness told the Fejér County News Portal

Meanwhile, it turned out that the police were alerted not only to Alba Plaza, but also to an Interspar on Budai Street due to a similar incident, with the shopping center there also evacuated.

According to the information so far, the police were notified of the bombs in two stores shortly after 6:00 p.m yesterday. This was also confirmed by the Fejér County Police Headquarters. The police were still securing both scenes during the evening yesterday.

András Cser-Palkovics, the mayor of Székesfehérvár, posted on X: “Bomb threats were reported at major shopping malls in the city tonight. Frankly, it’s hard to believe anyone who would entertain themselves by calling out bomb threats from a phone booth, causing a lot of people unnecessary alarm and annoyance. This is a simple evil that destroys a community and for which there is no excuse.”

“I have full confidence in our police. Based on the clues, they will quickly catch the perpetrator, who will then have to face the full severity of the law. The best thing he can do in his current situation is to turn himself in,” the mayor added.

Back in 2022, a wave of bomb threats forced the evacuation of malls in Budapest and other cities across Hungary.
