Last night, Poland’s Armed Forces Operational Command (DORSZ) deployed its air force to counter the threat of missile strikes by Russia.

“Attention, on the night of August 18 to 19, 2025, the long-range aviation of the Russian Federation once again launched missile attacks on Ukrainian territory,” DORSZ posted on X.

Poland “has activated all necessary procedures. Polish and allied aircraft have begun operations, and ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems have reached the highest state of readiness,” the post continued, emphasizing the need to rally forces fast to defend Polish airspace against Russian aggression.

“These actions are preventive in nature and are aimed at securing the airspace and protecting citizens, especially in areas adjacent to the threatened region.”

An official statement later indicated that no violation of Polish airspace had ultimately been observed and that all forces and resources had returned to standard operational activities.

The post on X nevertheless clarified that the Polish command “is monitoring the current situation, and the forces and resources under its command remain fully prepared for immediate response.”
