Israeli politician praises Orbán’s stance on migration, warns of threat of Islam

Migration has brought Islam to Europe, and now Europe is facing the same threats to its values and civilization that Israel has faced for decades, says Knesset member Simcha Dan Rothman

During the Center for Fundamental Rights’ International Pro-Israel Summit, Magyar Nemzet sat down with Simcha Dan Rothman, currently a member of the Israel Knesset representing the National Religious-Zionist Party.

Covering a variety of topics, Rothman had particular praise for Hungarian Prime Minister Orbán’s recognition of the threat of radical Islam, given the last decade of massive illegal migration into Europe.

The portal first addressed the aftermath of the recent Gaza peace deal reached in Egypt, about which Rothman admitted he and many other Israelis have “mixed feelings.” Not all bodies of hostages have even been returned, and there remains the matter of demilitarizing Gaza. Presently, concerns are widespread that Hamas is regrouping and that there could easily be a repeat of Oct. 7 if it is not eliminated.

Asked how he thought the relationship between Hungary and Israel could change the mainstream perspective in Europe, which has seen a strong spike in anti-Semitism, Rothman pointed to the example set by Viktor Orbán.

“I think Prime Minister Orbán is a kind of beacon in this regard. What he has done to ensure that Hungary strongly resists the jihadist Islamist powers that are taking over Europe, and also the anti-Semitism that still remains on the continent, is extraordinary,“ the Israeli politician said.

“There are still remnants of old anti-Semitism in Europe, which are combined with the new anti-Semitism coming from Islam and the red-green alliance, which is a collaboration against the values of Western civilization and Judeo-Christian values,” he added.

“I think Prime Minister Orbán has shown the world effective ways to deal with this problem, and I hope that many European countries will learn from this example, because what they are facing is not only a threat to Israel, but also to Europe,” Rothman continued, adding a stern warning for Europe if it fails to act.

“If Europe cannot stop this process, it could lead to its downfall. They need to take steps. And Prime Minister Orbán is a great example of this,” he said.

Rothman also called on conservatives around the world “to cooperate and learn from each other,” as leftist, liberal forces have been doing for a while now. “It will be easier to resist these international powers that are trying to destroy conservatism,” he said.
