In another horrifying case involving a foreigner allegedly raping an elderly victim, a 24-year-old Algerian man is on trial for breaking into a disabled elderly woman’s apartment in Stendal and brutally raping her — all while filming.
The case, dating back to February 2025, involves the Algerian man breaking into the 66-year-old woman’s apartment, where he then threatened her with a knife. He then began raping the woman while filming much of the rape on his smartphone. The rape reportedly lasted for hours, and because the woman has a mobility impairment, there was little she could do.
Eventually, the woman was able to call for help, at which time the perpetrator fled before being arrested.
The Algerian migrant has no fixed address and has a long criminal record. He is also facing charges in Bielefeld for another crime.
Remarkably, the trial for the man in Stendal Regional Court on Wednesday last week was postponed because the judge arrived at the trial drunk. He was given a breathalyzer, which revealed his blood alcohol content was 2.7 per mille. He has now been fined, and the trial has been rescheduled with a different judge, according to German news outlet MDR.
Remix News has long covered the trend of foreigners committing egregious rapes of elderly victims in Europe. In one of the most shocking cases, just last month, a son watched an Afghan caregiver rape his 82-year-old Austrian mother during a livestream in the woman’s Vienna apartment.
Migrants involved with sexual violence against elderly women are not so uncommon. Last year, a Syrian migrant sexually assaulted a 78-year-old woman, only to be released and rape a 23-year-old the next day. Also last year, a migrant raped two elderly women in a hospital and said he was “forced to rape” because he “didn’t have a girlfriend.” And on New Year’s morning last year, a migrant committed a break-in and raped a 75-year-old French woman.
In 2022, an Iraqi migrant raped a 90-year-old disabled woman confined to a wheelchair inside a hospital in Germany.
In France, there has been a wave of migrants raping or sexually assaulting elderly women. Last year, a migrant was jailed for the attempted rape of a woman who was 102 years old.
Somali-born Baasim Yusuf was sentenced to eight years in prison earlier this year for brutal sexual assaults on elderly women in his care, but due to holding Swedish citizenship since 2018, he cannot be deported despite the severity of his crimes.
