Poland’s Municipal Police Headquarters issued a statement regarding a naked black man who
was parading across the Piłsudski Bridge in Toruń just before midnight on April 4.

A woman reported having stopped her car after seeing a cat that had been struck on the bridge. She turned on her hazard lights and exited her vehicle to place the cat on the side of the road, Do Rzeczy writes, citing Dobrytorunlepszapolska.pl. It was then that she “saw a dark-skinned man walking toward her. He was approaching down the middle of the street, walking confidently, and was completely naked.”

A passing driver filmed the man in a video that spread on social media. A taxi driver provided shelter to the woman and immediately called the police.

“On Saturday (04/04/26) at 11:51 PM, Toruń police officers received a report from a man who had seen a naked, black man walking near the General J. Piłsudski Bridge. The officers who arrived at the scene detained the man in question and then transported him to a police station. Due to his behavior, an ambulance was called to the scene and the crew decided to transport the detainee to a specialist health facility. The man turned out to be a 25-year-old student from Zimbabwe residing in Poland,” read a statement from police.

It is not yet known at which university the accused is attending nor what he is studying.

“Tomorrow (Tuesday, editor’s note), the 25-year-old will be taken to the Border Guard station with a police request for deportation. Currently, the man is being held in a police detention facility,” the Toruń police added in a post on X.

In recent years, there have been a number of headline-grabbing cases involving naked men from Africa inside Poland. Last year, two naked Ethiopian men were found running through Lubin, sparking a police investigation.

In another incident, a Senegalese illegal migrant was detained by Polish police and deported after defecating in public at a popular swimming area
