On Tuesday, three more persons were detained as part of the ongoing investigation against former Minister of Transport Sławomir Nowak, according to Aleksandra Skrzyniarz, the spokeswoman of Warsaw’s district prosecutor’s office.

Among the detained are former PKN Orlen CEO Dariusz Krawiec.

The individuals were detained under suspicion of having given Nowak bribes amounting to several hundred thousand PLN in exchange for his help in gaining access to lucrative positions.

The investigation against Nowak concerns the period in which he was the head of Donald Tusk’s political cabinet (2007-2009) and when he was the minister of transport, construction and maritime economy (2011-2013).
