Professor Krzysztof Pyrć, a virologist at the Lesser Poland Center of Biotechnology, told the Polish Press Agency that the rising number of coronavirus cases in Poland is a “logical consequence” of easing restrictions.
He pointed out that large events and gatherings probably also have much to do with the surge in cases.
Pyrć stressed that both the government and citizens should pay attention to the areas in which new virus outbreaks appear and react appropriately so that the outbreaks will be “put out.”
He also noted that another reason for the rise in cases has to do with the holiday season and that it is important to always maintain some measure of security, be it a mask or social distancing, depending on the situation.
