Tusk congratulated PiS on its victory but claimed that the opposition’s result was still “very good” and “most importantly, they achieved a great result in the Senate due to unifying their efforts, by winning them.”
He told Polsat News in Brussels that “the opposition must have the power of a presidential veto to stop the PiS government from causing more harm.”
He emphasized the strategic importance of who will be running in the presidential elections. “This is a very important and strategic question, whether Poland will waste the next four years (…) or through a wise choice of a presidential candidate, Poles and political elites will be able to encourage or force the government to not make international and domestic mistakes.”
