A 28-year-old woman, Alexandra L., has died after being stabbed multiple times by her ex-partner last month, a Romanian national with an arrest record and an order to leave French territory. However, it also turns out she stabbed him with her new partner just a few weeks before the attack.
The woman was stabbed in dramatic fashion on Feb. 20 in front of a French supermarket in Hayange. The suspect, 38-year-old Iordan N., fled to Milan, Italy, where he was arrested and later extradited to France. He is now charged with murder and assault, according to the Met prosecutor’s office.
CCTV footage shows Iordan N. approach Alexandra L., briefly speak to her, and then stab her multiple times, including in the face. The woman fell to the ground, and a witness who tried to intervene was also seriously injured but his life is not in danger.
The woman was rushed to Metz Hospital by helicopter and while doctors were able to keep her alive, their intervention proved only temporary and she has since succumbed to her injuries, according to French outlet Actu17.
A video of the incident was released on social media, which Remix News also shared at the time.

The suspect was convicted eight times over the past 10 years for aggravated theft and traffic offenses. He served an 18-month sentence between 2016 and 2017, but despite a deportation order to leave French territory, he remained in the country.
Iordan N. and Alexandra L. were in a relationship the previous year while he remained in prison. Once he was released in September, she ended their relationship, which provoked violent episodes from the Romanian.
She filed a police complaint against him for threats and violence, including death threats. However, the woman refused to cooperate with authorities and then the investigation was dropped.
However, Alexandra L. and her new partner were convicted on Nov. 5 for luring Iordan N. to her house and having her new partner stab him.
The prosecution stated, “Ms. Alexandra L. lured him to her home, telling him that her partner was away,” before the latter stabbed her nine times, including three times in the back. The young woman was sentenced to one year in prison and a five-year ban on contacting Iordan N., while her partner was sentenced to two years in prison. On January 17, Alexandra L. again reported being punched in the face by her ex-partner, which led to the opening of a new investigation.”
