The attempt to make nomination for Oscars dependent on observance of political correctness and enforced diversity threatens to put the Academy on the road to censorship and interference in employment policies of private companies, says Polish commentator Piotr Gociek in an interview with weekly Do Rzeczy.
According to him, what is going on around the Oscars presents two dangers. One involves censorship, with certain topics becoming off limits. The other is the impertinence of dictating to private companies who they should employ.
The Film Academy has decided that it will not award Oscars to films that do not meet its criteria for employing ethnic and sexual minorities.
