Parliamentary chair Andrej Danko (SNS) believes that members of parliament should not be protected by immunity in some cases, such as anti-Semitic statements.
Danko wants to address the issue in a multilateral meeting with the other parliamentary parties, the change in laws could reflect one of the anti-fascist measures of the government.
According to Danko, who is also the president of the Slovak National Party, some MPs are frequently offending other states and religions, partially because they recognize their protection by parliamentary immunity.
The politician also believes that the Supreme Court of Slovakia should decide in six months in cases connected with effectively banning a political party. Currently the radical right ĽSNS is targeted by an investigation.
According to Danko the Slovak laws against extremism are weak and ineffective, the judicial process started in 2017 with no visible progress.
