People traveling on a train outside Paris were greeted with a shocking scene after a violent axe and machete attack involving up to 10 men shortly after 8 a.m. this morning. Four men were injured, two seriously.
The video of the aftermath shows one man holding his head over a pool of blood, with some reports on social media claiming the man’s brain was exposed due to an axe blow. The newspaper Actu17 confirms his “skull was split open.”
Another victim nearby is grasping his hand, which is missing fingers.
The group, which was described as being “young” people armed with various bladed weapons, including an axe and machete, were apparently waiting for the train to arrive. They then boarded and began attacking passengers. It is currently unclear if they were targeting a group of individuals they knew or if the attack was random.
Four people were injured, two of them seriously. The four people inured were minors or. young adults. Emergency services transported them from the station.
There are no arrests yet, but there was a large group of witnesses who saw the bloody scene unfold.
Police are collecting surveillance footage from the site and actively searching for the perpetrators.
