Jacek Kotula, a councilman of the Podkarpackie Voivodship Sejmik informed “Nasz Dziennik”, that the region wants to follow in Italian Verona’s footsteps, which declared itself a pro-life city.

“We are preparing an act modeled on Verona’s. I think it’ll go through without any issues, as we have 25 out of 33 councilors. These are people with consciences,” Kotula explained. He also argued that this act is meant to declare that Christian values are being abided in Podkarpacie. “Gender, euthanasia, in-vitro, abortion, sex-education and demoralizing children in general will not be promoted. We want to promote lawful behaviors.”

The proposal completely outraged liberal TVN star Andrzej Saramonowicz (pictured above from his FB profile), who called for a boycott of the entire Podkarpackie Voivodship on Facebook:

“I’ve been reading that Podkarpackie is threatening to become a pro-life zone. (…) I think that if this really happens then we, the urban zone of moral laxity and debauchery, should stop spending our vacations there. We should just leave a ton of our money outside of the pro-life zone,” Saramanowicz, who has been a long-time critic of PiS, wrote on Facebook.

We should also stop buying products from Podkarpacie. Let’s make a list of companies from there and start to boycott them

“We should also stop buying products from Podkarpacie. Let’s make a list of companies from there and start to boycott them. We’ll see who relents first,” the film director continued.

Underneath the post, both critics and supporters of PiS criticized Saramonowicz: “This is how you divide people!”, “To be honest, you are insulting the inhabitants of Podkarpacie. You are just like PiS, in that you divide people into those better and worse” and “following this line of thought, we may as well start to build border posts within the country.”
