According to Polish Health Minister Łukasz Szumowski, new outbreaks will be common during the epidemic, but the government is prepared to handle them, and another lockdown will not occur
Szumowski told RMF FM radio that the recent record in infections in Poland was due to extensive virus screening in workplaces.
He emphasized that if not for the testing of miners, Poland would’ve seen drops in infection rates.
Szumowski added that Silesia as a region has been “taken” with infections to the same extent as other voivodships and that the infected miners are mostly asymptomatic, which is a general “phenomenon in the epidemic.”
