In a televised address to the nation, Polish President Andrzej Duda emphasized that the coronavirus has reached Poland and that the number of infected will grow over the next few days.
He assured that the Polish government had previously taken necessary steps to prepare for any scenario.
He reminded viewers that currently, sanitary control measures have been introduced at the Polish border and that there is a ban on organizing any mass events.
Duda explained that the Polish government wants to prevent infections and protect the people and that he is in constant contact with Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, the minister of health and the minister of the interior.
He also stated that the government, administration, sanitary and medical services, the police, fire brigades, border guards, and the military are all working to protect Polish citizens.
