Czech politicians head to Visegrad and vice versa

Leading Czech politicians are set to visit the Visegrad countries this year. At the same time, the Czech Republic will host the V4 summit and the presidents of all four countries will meet in the Czech Republic in autumn.

V4 summits will first be prepared by the Slovak Presidency which will be taken over by the Czech Republic in July. President Milos Zeman also plans to finish state visits to neighboring countries and V4 partners this year. He will travel to Hungary, Slovakia and Austria.

The Czech political leaders will also probably head to Asia and possibly to Africa and North America.

Zeman, for example, plans to take another trip to China, and plans an “African mission“.

Andrej Babiš is heading to India, Thailand and Singapore on January 13th. Apart from that, he will also attend the World Economic Forum in Davos, and in the upcoming months he will participate in the European Council summit to be held by the Romanian Presidency.

Chief of the Senate, Jaroslav Kubera, will head to Oman in late March. Until then, he only plans to travel to Slovakia. House Chairman Radek Vondráček is still considering destinations for his foreign trips.

In March, the Czech Republic along with the other states will celebrate 20 years since joining NATO, and expects to welcome a number of foreign guests on that occasion. In addition, there are further visits under consideration, for example, a state visit from southern Europe.
