A fan featured in a viral video ripping off his Saudi Arabia jersey during the Qatar World Cup match between Poland and Saudi Arabia got the attention of Polish football star Robert Lewandowski, who gave the fan the surprise of his life.
The unusual situation happened in the stands during the match and was posted as a video clip on social media. After Lewandowski, Barcelona’s striker and captain of the Polish national team, scored a goal against Saudi Arabia, one of the fans took off a Saudi national team jersey. It turned out that he was wearing a white-red Polish jersey with the name “Lewandowski” on it.
The fan then started jumping and chanting the Polish player’s name.
The video went viral and was quickly noticed by Lewandowski, who posted an entry on Facebook proposing to give away his jersey to the fan.
The fan, who is an Indian national, was invited to the Polish team’s hotel to meet Lewandowski and receive a signed jersey.
