Following an attack against a group of ten to 15 young Catholic men in the French city of Rouen which involved anti-Catholic and anti-White remarks, National Rally politician Marine Le Pen stated that the only reason France is even aware of the attack is because “Cnews exists.”
“Whatever one may think of it, fortunately CNEWS exists to talk about the assault on young Catholics in Rouen to the cries of ‘dirty white’ and ‘dirty fascist,’ a manifestation of anti-White racism that almost no other media has discussed. Refusing to talk about and condemn all forms of racism is refusing to condemn racism,” she wrote on X.

Le Pen is now panning the selective media silence around the violent attack the previous Saturday night near Rouen’s Saint-Romain fair. CNEWS has run a number of reports about the racist attack and due to its role as an actual national television news channel, it reaches millions of French viewers.
On the evening of Oct. 31, around 11 p.m., a group of roughly ten to fifteen young Catholic men in their early to mid-twenties were heading toward the fair near the Docks 76 area after celebrating birthdays. They had been singing Catholic hymns, including “Resucitó, Alleluia,” while walking or after leaving a bus.
Witnesses and the victims reported that the atmosphere shifted abruptly when someone shouted that there were “fascists,” after which a larger group approached them, according to French news outlet Valeurs Actuelles.
Video of the attack also went viral on X.

The attacking group consisted of dozens of young men, many in black tracksuits and appearing to be of North African origin. The group began screaming a number of anti-White comments Victims stated in police complaints and a number of media interview that the group of North Africans screamed: “Fascists, dirty whites, we’re going to f**k your mothers, we’re going to kill you,” “dirty white.”
One attacker also screamed: “I’m 16, I’m Muslim and we’re going to f**k your mothers.”
The confrontation turned physical: punches, kicks, and a beating that left several men on the ground. At least three or four required hospital treatment.
One suffered an orbital fracture on his left eye. Other victims suffered facial hematomas, nosebleeds, and concussions.
A photo of one of the victims showed a serious injury to his eye.
One victim also lost consciousness when he returned to his home.
Four men filed formal complaints for violence motivated by race, ethnicity, nation, or religion.
The Rouen public prosecutor’s office opened an investigation and have already found with three witnesses. Rouen’s mayor, Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol, stated that if the violence was motivated by the religious songs the victims had been singing, it would represent “a serious attack on the principles of freedom of conscience and religion.” He publicly condemned the attacks without reservation.
Victim Pierre-Alexis Michau, speaking on CNEWS, recounted: “I heard ‘dirty fascists, dirty whites, I’m Muslim and I’m going to fuck your mothers.’”
“I am French, I am Catholic. From centrist or left-wing media, we received no message, not even of support, no word at all,” he stated.

Other accounts, first detailed by Boulevard Voltaire and later expanded in Valeurs Actuelles after review of complaints and medical reports, described the attack as unprovoked beyond the singing and the group’s appearance.
So far, no arrests have been made in the case. As Remix News has reported in the past, CNEWS remains a major target of the left in France. In 2023, the Macron government was already moving to revoke the broadcast license of CNEWS.
