Poland’s opposition parties are disloyal to the nation and state and are the most “poisoning element” of Poland’s politics, Law and Justice’s (PiS) leader Jarosław Kaczyński claimed in an interview by Gazeta Lubelska daily.
“Poland’s opposition has a self-declared character based on the rejection of any political principles, starting from the use of civilized language ending with the rules of national solidarity,” stressed Kaczyński.
Kaczyński said that “civilized political rules” are followed by opposition parties in other European nations, citing Italy as an example.
“Fratelli d’Italia‘s victory was a shock to the center-left parties, but when foreign countries started urging Italian politicians to take actions similar to those of the Polish opposition, they heard a clear and definite ‘no,’” pointed out the leader of Law and Justice.
Kaczyński said that Italians are loyal to their nation and state, which is not the case for the Polish opposition. He said that it could be described with the words that Charles de Gaulle once used to describe the communist opposition in France: “It is a foreign opposition.”
The latest survey by Social Changes for wpolityce.pl showed that many Poles are critical of the opposition’s strong fight against the Polish government.
Some 39 percent of the respondents said the opposition should limit their attacks against Law and Justice’s government due to the war in Ukraine and the existing threat to Poland, compared to 33 percent of respondents who disagreed — 28 percent had no opinion on the matter.
